Kids&Us students can obtain the official Trinity College London “Global Communication in English” qualifications

As a Validated Course and Assessment Provider, Kids&Us becomes the first English teaching institution in the world to achieve this status with Trinity and, from now on, we can offer with our courses and exams, the official "Global Communication in English” qualification: issued by Trinity College London, regulated in by Ofqual and aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

How will our students obtain the GCE qualification?

Levels A1, A2, B1 and B2

They are awarded automatically upon passing the Kids&Us exams at the end of the Ben&Brenda, Animal Planet 2, Fairy Tales 2 and Mysteries 2 courses, respectively.

The families who wish to receive the official digital certificate will only need to cover its cost.

Levels C1 and C2

These are awarded directly upon passing the Kids&Us exams for The Future 2 and Subscription 2 courses, respectively.

Families can receive the official digital certificate free of charge, in recognition of their time at Kids&Us.

The process, step by step

Until November 30

The family submits the application. After this date, it will no longer be possible to join this school year’s certification round.

Last term of the school year

The students takes their Kids&Us final exam for their level. If a second attempt is needed, a resit session is held before the new school year begins. Both sessions are included at no extra cost.

After passing the exam

Kids&Us sends the results of the students who passed the Kids&Us exam to Trinity.

About two months later

Trinity issues the official certificate in digital format. This final step is managed directly by Trinity, which is why the certificate arrives some time after the exam. (Families who later want a physical copy can request one directly from Trinity College London, which may charge an additional fee.)

Trinity College London’s Global Communication in English (GCE) qualifications assess learners’ ability to understand, interpret and use English effectively in real-world communicative situations. Trinity College London’s published GCE qualification specification, which clearly states the regulatory basis for the qualifications, can be found here.

Who the qualifications are for

The intended GCE candidate is a learner of English as a foreign language who has developed communicative competence through the Kids&Us programme.

Eligibility for entry is restricted to learners enrolled in the corresponding Kids&Us course for that academic year (see table below).
